“Bells” by Adam Christian Clark has completed filming in Athens, marking a “return” for the Greek-American director, who decided to set his new film in the central Athens neighborhoods where his grandmother lived. Remaining committed to his love for 1970s cinema, Clark is shooting the film on 16mm, with Christos Voudouris as director of photography. In addition to taking on the role of John himself, he has chosen Greek actors for the cast of the film.
“Athens. Winter. Eleni, a night watchwoman, is at risk of losing her family home. John, an American architect, is engaged to Daphne, a development executive at a contemporary art museum. Their lives will intersect when John visits Eleni’s house, leading to a relationship that unfolds on the margins of their everyday lives.”
